Respecting Elders

Relay race moves ahead.

The caves came first, then the huts

So the houses could be built

Taking the second step after the first is the only way forward.

The child is born and taught,

But if the teacher is good, the student becomes a greater teacher when they grow up.

The sign of progress is children discerning which of their parents footsteps to avoid.

The only way to respect our past and present elders, is to refine the definition of a ‘better world’ and then build it.

  1. It is an excellent piece,as taking whatever the past or the ones born before did, as it is,without reasoning then no progress can be possible. The word ‘ discernment ‘ is important which makes all the difference.
